State Scholarship Program
NFB of Nevada Unity Scholarship
The National Federation of the Blind of Nevada's annual scholarship program awards two merit-based scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $1,500 to blind scholars across the state. Any legally blind, full-time college student or graduating high school seniors who will be attending college full-time in the fall of 2022 may apply. All finalists must attend the entire National Federation of the Blind of Nevada state convention, to be held in November. All blind high school seniors and college students are encouraged to apply! The Silver State Federation Family First Timer Convention Scholarship
Are you a new member of the National Federation of the Blind of Nevada interested in attending your first NFB of Nevada State Convention? Have you been involved with the NFB of Nevada for some time, but haven’t had the opportunity to attend a state convention due to financial restraints? Are you a parent of a blind child in Nevada seeking support in advocacy and positive blind role models for yourself and your child?
We have great news for you! The National Federation of the Blind of Nevada will be supporting four first timers in attending our 2022 State Convention, which is to be held November 18- 20 in person at the Henderson Comfort Inn Suites. Through our Silver State Federation Family First Time Convention Scholarship, we will provide stipends in the amount of $250.00 each to four qualified applicants. Essay Contest

National Scholarship Program
Every year, the National Federation of the Blind awards more than $240,000 to blind scholars across the fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico in recognition of their achievements and professional aspirations. The scholarship program is our commitment to academic excellence and leadership among blind students, and each winner is awarded on the basis of academic excellence, community service, and leadership. The application deadline for the national scholarship program is March 31. The deadline for the state scholarship program and the Silver State Family First Timer Convention Scholarship is October 15.
The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future.
