Nevada Association of Blind Students (NVABS)

The purpose of this Organization shall be to promote excellence in educational opportunities and the general well-being of the blind of Nevada. NVABS shall not merely be a social organization but shall formulate programs and actively work to promote the academic and social betterment of the blind as well as to function as an integral part of the National Federation of the Blind.

During the year, information highlighting scholarships, workshops/seminars, national/state conventions and internship possibilities are distributed. An in person meeting is conducted at the state convention and presentations are held throughout the year.

The division conducts monthly conference calls via Zoom on the second Thursday of the month at 7 PM. For a schedule of upcoming meetings and the participation details, please contact President Bryce Gitzen at 907-887-9838.
