Scope Out Space: Upcoming Event for Blind and Low-Vision Students
Accessible STEM lessons and lifelong connections.

Attend the National Federation of the Blind STEM2U program, a transformative day of discovery designed for blind youth. They will learn fundamental non-visual tools and techniques for science, technology, engineering, and math to boost their education and career aspirations.

This opportunity offers your child:

In collaboration with the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), we will become astronomers through the study of astrophysics and engineering!

Join us to build models of the James Webb space telescope, learn about the Earth’s atmosphere, discover why the Webb was sent to space, and explore how it studies space.

Join the NFB of Nevada on Saturday, August 24 at the Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living
999 Pyramid Way, Sparks, NV 89431 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for our FREE NFB STEM2U program for students ages 8-12. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Parents must register their child online to participate and receive a free COSI science kit. The deadline to register is Friday, August 16th.
